and all the other politicians and actors and writers and musicians and artists who gave up their lives and/or parts of their careers because they were either Jewish or part-Jewish or were victims of forced and/or coerced psychiatry while attempting to fight for freedom, justice and the American Way

Now it is out in the open.  The blood is on their hands!  On the hands of the eugenics movement.  The 1% in the USA and in Saudi Arabia and in Egypt and now being fought by the Holy Roman Empire and being exported around the world again by the British Empire.

It's a miracle that I am not among the dead yet and that, as of this moment, to my knowledge, neither are any of my children nor my step-children nor my adopted/adoptive children.

First they came for the so-called "mental defectives", then they came for the homosexuals, then they came for the Jews, then they came for the gypsies, then they came for the intelligentsia, etc, etc, etc but I was not among them?

Human rights now! Join us in Albany to protest NAMI, Murphy, H.R. 3717 - The Occupied New York Times 11-11-14

November 9, 2014 – 7:30 p.m.
Please share this new information!
Where do YOU stand?
NAMI members are invited to participate.
Dear NAMI Leaders:
This is an opportunity to help address concerns about NAMI-NYS that have been expressed both by people who are members of NAMI and people with relevant lived experience within systems that NAMI supports.  The Mental Patients Liberation Alliance (The Alliance) has worked with individual members and NAMI Chapters throughout New York State for over 40 years and recognizes that the actions of NAMI-NYS do not always represent those of the grassroots membership.

According to the NAMI New York State 2014 Education Conference announcement:
“NAMI-NYS is honored to present our 2014 Legislative Champion Award to United States Representative Tim Murphy (PA).  NAMI-NYS could not think of a government leader more deserving of this award or one who has had a bigger hand in shaping our future than Representative Murphy.”
A concern at this time is that legislation proposed by Rep. Murphy will set back decades of progress.   The unequivocal support of NAMI-NYS for this partisan legislation, as well as the declaration that NAMI-NYS  “stands united” in that support, re-enforces a long-standing and widespread view:  NAMI draws a line to separate family members and their issues from the people who are directly affected by “mental health” legislation and services and our issues.

To help put this into an historical context, enclosed is an “OPEN LETTER TO THE AMI-NYS BOARD/AFFILIATES/AMI LEADERS” and the introduction to the “Report of Legal Action and Quality of Treatment Committee” as a “WAKE UP CALL TO THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS”, dated   May 1995.
Where do YOU stand? was formed to provide comprehensive information about the proposed legislation and ask people concerned about human rights to stand together in opposition to the bill.  A flyer for the event is enclosed.  The Alliance encourages the grassroots membership of NAMI to express their own views.

A general meeting of Where Do YOU Stand? is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Friday, November 14 at the Holiday Inn.  A teach-in will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Segments will run for an hour, with 15-minute breaks.

Four segments are confirmed – Briefly described:
1)  International human rights – the U.S. CRPD ratification
and RUDs that have a specific negative impact against
our ability to use the CRPD to abolish forced psychiatry
2)  Trauma – definition, impact on individuals and
communities, prevalence among people who come to
the attention of the mental health system, discussion of
     trauma-informed approaches, how trauma survivors
can use social action as a healing approach
3)  Comprehensive information about bill H.R. 3717 and
the impact and potential impact of the various
      components to the bill
4)  People may participate in organizing, planning, and
     develop of an Action Response

People will gather together at the
Desmond Hotel & Conference Center
660 Albany-Shaker Road
Albany, New York 12211
at 5:00 p.m., Friday, November 14
to Stand in solidarity to show and confirm opposition to the Murphy Bill H.R. 3717 and NAMI-NYS’s unqualified support of that bill.
You are invited to attend the teach-in and/or
participate with our Stand
in unity to oppose the bill
and the endorsement of
NAMI-NYS.

Re: Final Committee Report & Straight Talk from a former member of the board
WAKE-UP CALL EXCERT FROM:
THIS IS A FINAL REPORT & A WAKE-UP CALL TO THE BOARD of DIRECTORS:
Regrettably, the focus of the organization has shifted from outreach, advocacy and support for families & consumers who need help & information: Instead of speaking out as independent advocates to improve the quality of care & treatment, AMI-NYS is influenced by & lobbies for provider interests.  An absence of leadership on the AMI-NYS board, a lack of vision, & confusion about the organization’s position on fundamental issues, have eroded its credibility among families & consumers. Furthermore, a passive board has allowed someone who does not level, communicate or discuss issues in a collegial manner with AMI members --- someone who disdains democratic procedures, to take total control of the organization as President & Executive Director.
AMI-NYS Has Lost Sight of Its Mission to Consumers & Families:
Instead of offering support and guidance for navigating the hostile & fragmented mental health system, AMI-NYS has become a lobbying agent for self-serving providers, bureaucrats & professionals who profit from the state system. (e.g., lobbyists for Sandoz, OMH). An effective grassroots organization must attract new members from diverse backgrounds. AMI-NYS does not welcome diversity, a small insider clique maintains tight control of the organization with minorities & consumers having but token representation.
We are a publicly funded grassroots advocacy organization---not an exclusive private club!
Why isn’t the Board Communicating with AMI Affiliates & Leaders?
Why has the Board of Directors abdicated its managerial responsibilities?
What outreach strategies to underserved minorities are being implemented?
Why is most of the board’s time (and our resources) being taken up by internal strife & maneuvers to block family members rather than to support them?
What is AMI-NYS’s rate of growth? How are committees encouraged & supported?
This President is Not Straightforward &Shows Poor Leadership Qualities:
Unfortunately, Joseph Gentile avoids candid discussions---even with board members who must make decisions. Rather than resolving problems, he makes impulsive, ill-advised, unilateral decisions which exacerbate conflicts within the organization, alienate active members & impede self-help advocacy. To get the board’s approval on controversial issues (often after he has acted) this president has often misrepresented the truth & withheld relevant information from leaders & the board. (e.g. Accepting $$ from Sandoz, Firing the Exec. Dir.). I cannot continue to represent an organization whose management allows a president to abuse his power---to the point of subverting advocacy activities of authorized committees: Committees that inform, support, protect & empower consumers & families.

33rd Annual Bastille Day event about psychiatric oppression on July 12, 13, 14 and 15, 2013 in Albany, NY

The Mental Patients Liberation Alliance (The Alliance) will host its 33rd Annual Bastille Day event to celebrate the human spirit and break the silence about psychiatric oppression on July 12, 13, 14 and 15 (Friday through Monday noon) in Albany, NY.

A peaceful educational vigil will begin at the New York State Office of Mental Health, 44 Holland Avenue, Albany, NY at noon on Friday. A focus will be on the mental illness industries’ devastating “medical model” that exclusively relies on – solely allows and most often forces – invasive dehumanizing, disabling, and potentially deadly drugs and Electro-Convulsive (ECT- Shock) treatments to address what are termed “mental illness” and “mental health issues” – on countless children, young people, and adults.

Kristin Woodlock, Acting Commissioner of the New York State Office of Mental Health, will publish the Regional Centers of Excellence Plan on July 8, 2013, that will “strategically position the mental health system for the future”. The position of we, the people, who have been stigmatized, treated, and dehumanized will be a focus of the 2013 Bastille Day. The Highlander Statement of Concern and Call to Action (March 2000) states, in part: “We call upon all people committed to human rights to work together to build a mental health system that is based upon the principle of self-determination, on a belief in our ability to recover, and on our right to define what recovery is and how best to achieve it”. In the spirit of The Highlander, the Centers of Excellence Plan will be one focal point of Bastille Day 2013.

A general members’ meeting will be held on Sunday, July 15 at 11:00 a.m. during the vigil on Holland Avenue. All meetings are open to the public.

The Alliance – established in 1972 – is a self help, mutual support, and human rights organization of, by, and for people labeled as “mentally ill”. Alliance members, their supporters, and concerned community members are connected to an international liberation movement. The Alliance can be contacted at www.TheAlliance.org or toll free at 1-800-654-7227.

The American Wealthcare System:
Only Nation to Literally EJECT Those In Medical Need

We've strayed a long way from, "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..."

A Rise in Wealth for the Wealthy; Declines for the Lower 93%

Pew Social and Demographic Trends - ‎‎
SDT-2013-04-wealth-recovery-0-1 During the first two years of the nation's economic recovery, the mean net worth of households in the upper 7% of the wealth distribution rose by an estimated 28%, while the mean net worth of households in the lower 93% ...

As long as these wealthy people control the media conversation in the US - and they do - Americans seem willing to believe that the 'economic crisis' was an accident. If what the TV says about the American economic crisis is true, then why are US corporations making greater profits than ever at the same time jobs and average pay are continually being slashed?! While average Americans have lost their homes, their savings, their futures and their dignity, the rich somehow keep profiting off of the so-called banking 'carelessness' and 'mistakes' that led to the looting of our own huddled masses.

What a 'careless' windfall for the American Bourgeoisie who are the creators, controllers, and manipulators of our economic and banking systems. It must just be luck that all of the missing money in America has turned up in their pockets... again.

US hospitals send hundreds of immigrant patients back to home countries to ...

Washington Post - ‎
DES MOINES, Iowa - Days after they were badly hurt in a car accident, Jacinto Cruz and Jose Rodriguez-Saldana lay unconscious in an Iowa hospital while the American health care system weighed what to do with the two immigrants from Mexico.

The United States is the only industrialized nation to SELL medical assistance to those in need as a primary foundation of its so called 'healthcare system'. As though 'life-and-death' coercion is an ethical business plan. It's not. In no way is denying healthcare to human beings, humane. The nation with the most medical resources allows middleman insurance companies to profiteer off of it's own sick, elderly, dying, and/or needy, that there may be markets made out of these human lives.

Most bankruptcies in the US are caused by medical bills while all other first-world countries recognize medical attention as a basic human right.

American emergency rooms have taken to 'drug & release' policies for those too poor to pay for appropriate medical care, and now deportation has become the hot new business practice of US hospitals looking to rid themselves of immigrants in medical need.

The irony is that some immigrants who come to the US to work and make a better life for themselves, have to return to their own countries to be treated like human beings when medical needs arise.

Business cannot be an ethical basis for every facet of human life.

The entire rest of the civilized world understands this. Why is the United States still selling the humanity of medical care to the highest bidder? Isn't such a system inherently inhumane?

Adding Up Diagnosis Errors

Wall Street Journal - ‎‎
Mistakes diagnosing patients are the most common, costly and dangerous errors made by doctors in the U.S. and result in permanent injury or death for as many as 160,000 patients annually, a new study found.

When healthcare is an 'industry' rather than a necessity, natural born healers, doctors, and diagnosticians are drowned out by greed-eyed incompetents who chase the idea of financial success at the expense of authentic care. The idea that "there's good money in that field" overpowers the idea that one should do what they naturally enjoy and are good at. Passing the courses and answering standardized testing correctly - does not a healer, make.

While America certainly does boast some of the best medical training and equipment for those who can afford to 'jump the line' - we've also got people dying in emergency care waiting rooms simply because America currently considers medical 'worth' to be synonymous with financial worth.

                                                    CLASSISM KILLS

While America spends the most for healthcare, our 'profits matter most' neurosis leads to deplorable results. The term 'healthcare' in the US, can only be a bastardized marketing ploy in a nation that allows such profiteering. We are the only industrialized nation to allow middleman insurance companies - whose primary objective is to take money away from those in need and turn that life-or-death financial resource into corporate profits, instead of life-saving medical assistance. This is the primary objective of the health insurance industry in the US. That such an industry can even exist in a civilized world prompts a check on the current definition of the word "civilized".
